Mixing CJC-1295: What to Know Before You Reconstitute
CJC-1295 is a growth hormone releasing hormone analog sold as a lyophilized powder, most commonly in 2 mg and 5 mg vials. It exists in two forms that matter for mixing: with DAC and without DAC (the latter often labeled mod GRF 1-29). Both reconstitute the same way, but they are dosed on different schedules, which affects how long a vial stays in service. CJC-1295 is also the most commonly paired peptide in the GH-axis category, usually alongside ipamorelin, and that pairing introduces its own mixing question covered below.
Bacteriostatic water vs. sterile water
Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which inhibits bacterial growth after the vial is punctured. Sterile water, having no preservative, is generally treated as single use. CJC-1295 vials are drawn from repeatedly over days or weeks, so bacteriostatic water is the standard choice.
How much water to add
Water volume changes concentration, not content. A 5 mg vial contains 5 mg regardless. Because CJC-1295 doses are typically in the microgram range, the draws are small, and the water volume you choose largely determines whether those draws land on readable syringe markings.

Mixing technique
Run the water down the inside wall of the vial rather than directly onto the powder, then swirl gently or let it sit until dissolved. Do not shake. The solution should be clear when fully dissolved. GH-axis peptides in general are handled gently, and CJC-1295 is no exception.
Storage before and after mixing
Lyophilized vials keep cool and dark before mixing. After reconstitution the vial is refrigerated, with the usual 28 day discard convention drawn from punctured bacteriostatic water. Since CJC-1295 without DAC is often dosed more frequently than the DAC version, how quickly a vial is consumed varies considerably between the two, so the mix date rather than the fill level is what people track.

The frequent ones: confusing the DAC and non-DAC versions when following a dosing schedule, using so little water that doses land on 2 or 3 units where small errors matter proportionally more, attempting to reconstitute CJC-1295 and ipamorelin into a single vial, mixing up mcg and mg during conversion, and carrying an old unit count over to a new vial mixed at a different volume.
